Achievement in training modalities such as CrossFit, Olympic Lifting, Running, or any other is largely based upon an athletes gradual progression from week to week, month to month, year to year, and decade to decade. The operative phrase from that us gradual progression. Excellence at anything does not come fast in the Strength and Conditioning arena. The high level athletes are more often that not insanely dedicated rather than naturally gifted. These are the people who are capable of pushing them selves everyday with out being told to; they do it because its what they love. If your a coach, these are the athletes you want.

Set specific goals for your sport and training. These goals should be in weeks, months, years, and even your entire life span. The goals shouldn’t be arbitrary but instead help you get to a new level in your training or sport. For example, if you want a 100kg snatch but can only over head squat 80kg than you should aim to get your OHS to 105-110 kg.
